NIGO Named Creative Director of Uniqlo U.T.

In the months following his high-profile departure from his own founded brand A Bathing Ape, NIGO insisted that he would pursue developing his HUMAN MADE label, and perhaps even retail development. Left out of his description was a new gig with Japanese lifestyle brand Uniqlo, who has recently tapped the legendary designer to become Uniqlo U.T.’s creative director. This is a hefty responsibility, no doubt, to a brand in the midst of rapid global expansion. Nigo will begin immediately with the men’s, women’s and children’s Spring/Summer 2014 lines.

Olympus Stylus 1

Olympus has unveiled an impressive Stylus 1 camera housed in an SLR-like body similar to the preceding OM-D EM-5 model.  The main point of attraction here is the premium superzoom ring that Olympus has ingeniously attached to the OM-D body. Housed within the magnesium alloy body is a 1/1.7-type BSI-CMOS sensor that provides an equivalent focal length of 28–300 mm. Equipped with a plethora of features like a high resolution electronic view finder, a ‘hybrid’ control ring, Wi-Fi enabled functions, a tilting touchscreen LCD, in-camera RAW processing capabilities, and 1080p movie recording functions, this state-of-the-art gadget is a versatile option for the prosumer photographer. The Olympus Stylus 1 will be available just in time for Christmas at select retailers for $700 USD.
