Olympus has unveiled an impressive Stylus 1
camera housed in an SLR-like body similar to the preceding OM-D EM-5
model. The main point of attraction here
is the premium superzoom ring that Olympus has ingeniously attached to the OM-D
body. Housed within the magnesium alloy body is a 1/1.7″-type BSI-CMOS sensor that provides an
equivalent focal length of 28–300 mm. Equipped with a plethora of features like
a high resolution electronic view finder, a ‘hybrid’ control ring, Wi-Fi
enabled functions, a tilting touchscreen LCD, in-camera RAW processing
capabilities, and 1080p movie recording functions, this state-of-the-art gadget
is a versatile option for the prosumer photographer. The Olympus Stylus 1 will
be available just in time for Christmas at select retailers for $700 USD.
